Brothers Reaching Back
At Big Brothers Big Sisters, young males of color make up more than half of our waiting list, many of whom have been waiting for a Big Brother for more than two years.
Are You Ready To Reach Back?
At Big Brothers Big Sisters of the Bluegrass, young males of color make up more than half of our waiting list, many of whom have been waiting for a Big Brother for more than two years. They come to us with the hopes of finding a mentor who will inspire them to reach beyond their adversity. That's why we need individuals like you to reach back.
Mentoring is a powerful way to empower, equip, energize, and elevate our youth. It reminds them that they, too, can be great! At Big Brothers Big Sisters, we offer two ways to mentor...
School-Plus Mentoring
Bigs meet with Littles for one hour the same day and time each school week to work on academics and to play board games, read, etc. These matches can also meet out of school when school is not in session.
Community-Based Mentoring
Bigs meet with Littles at an arranged time for about an hour a week and they participate in community activities (visit the park or library, go to lunch, etc.)
Big Brothers Big Sisters offers one-to-one mentorships that are flexible and professionally supported by staff to help make the most of your time and impact. For just a few hours a month, you can invest in these children and bring about change in our community.
