Bowl for Kids’ Sake

We’ve made the difficult decision to cancel all previously postponed in-person Bowl for Kids’ Sake events for 2020, which includes the remainder of our Fayette County public events, as well as events for The Brokerage – Real Estate AdvisorsLeadership Lexington, Montgomery County, and Bechtel Parsons Blue Grass. However, we celebrated with our teams during a virtual event on May 17! Since we’re about $20,000 away from reaching our goal, we hope bowlers with canceled events will consider re-joining us as we attempt to raise $115,000 to defend the potential of youth in Central Kentucky.

DONATE AND FEED A FAMILY IN NEED: Thanks to a generous matching gift challenge by Taziki’s Mediterranean Cafe, your donation can have an even bigger impact when we need it most. For every $50 raised through Bowl for Kids’ Sake from now through May 28th, Taziki’s will donate 5 meals to families in our program (up to $10,000/1,000 meals)! Visit www.bbbs-bluegrass.org/bfks to donate.

Office Hours

We are following the Governor’s recommendation and asking all of our employees to work from home, when possible. Therefore, our office will not have regular open hours until further notice. Each of our staff will have access to email and will continue to provide support to our matches during this time. With that being said, our office phone line will be transferred to a staff member’s phone during regular office hours. Certainly feel free to call us at 859-231-8181 if you need anything at all.

Match Outings

Due to the recent suggested change to school systems, which asks for schools to close for the remainder of the school year, we have decided that all in-person match activities should be suspended until further notice. We hope that you’ll be creative in keeping in touch, with many of you already beginning that process, by talking over the phone, playing video games together, and FaceTiming. Reach out to your Case Manager if you’d like to discuss your particular situation or to discuss creative ideas for continuing to build your match relationship without seeing each other in-person.
